an historic garden of 'gentle wildness'...
Campaspe Country House is blessed with a stunning example of an early Edna Walling garden, only now revealing the seminal designer's unique vision as it reaches full maturity. The original plan delineates different areas of the grounds so that each time the viewer turns, a new vista is revealed.

Seasonal Garden
In Spring, the garden is spectacular bursting with colours as rhododendrons, azaleas, crab apple trees and camellias are the perfect backdrop for jonquils, daffodils, Grandmother's bonnets and iris.
In Autumn, the garden provides a perfect example of the colours the region is famous for, as our 80 year old liquid ambers and maples unveil their striking transformation.
In summer, shades of greens are sheltered from the bright central Victorian sun in a way that only a long established gardens can do.
Even in winter, large feature trees like red cedars and the rare Macedon oak (which stays evergreen) provide variation in colour and foliage.
Pottage - we have our own kitchen garden featuring espaliered olive and pear trees, an excellent selection of herbs and vegetables.
